Finalmente, Air Europa abandonó la participación en esta empresa y la empresa continuó operando de forma independiente (es decir, sin ser su filial regional ni conectar con sus vuelos)
Air Santo Domingo was a regional airline with both Dominican and Spanish partners. The Spanish carrier Air Europa wanted to build a regional operation which would connect at the Santo Domingo hub with their flights to and from Madrid, flying to the Caribbean and eventually to the US and even Europe. Initially the airline flew with Czech Let 410 planes, but there were plans to add Boeing 737 and 757 aircraft to their fleet. Later, Air Europa lost interest and Air Santo Domingo continued operating as an independent airline (ie, not as a regional Caribbean subsidiary)
