Caribbean Airways (1981)

Laker Airways was a British charter airline which is well known for its Skytrain, a revolutionary concept at the time which introduced longhaul low cost, "no frills" style flights between London and New York. They also flew from London to Barbados, a direct flight with one stop at Luxembourg, trading as Caribbean Airways. This was a joint venture between Laker Airways and the Barbados Government and it had been designated by IATA as the Barbados flag carrier.

Deutsche BA (1994) [completo]

In the mid 90's, before the airline alliances as we know them know, the European big players such as British Airways, KLM or Swissair  were busy trying to get hold of the European market and building a network of smaller regional airlines.
Deutsche BA was born when British airways bought the 49% of the shares of the German airline Delta Air, and it started flying as their German subsidiary. At first, they had a small domestic network, posing competition against Lufthansa with lower fares. They later flew some European destinations, mostly to Spain and the United Kingdom as British Airways codeshares. In this 1994 brochure the airline is marketed as "the other German airline" and "Germany takes off".
British Airways got the 100% of the shares at some point, but eventually they got rid of their German airline which changed its name to DBA and began flying as a low cost airline. DBA and LTU joined forces some years later, and after some time they both were bought into the Air Berlin group. DBA operated as an independent brand under the Air Berlin group for some time until it ceased operations in 2008.

Another great find at David Ross website is this Los Angeles Airways timetable. The airline started in 1947 the world's first scheduled helicopter air post service.
The 60's were a golden age for helicopter airlines. Los Angeles Airways had a pretty extensive network from Los Angeles airport, including the Disneyland park. I really liked how they advertise other helicopter airlines (Sabena, Chicago Helicopter Airlines, New York Airways)

Air Kiribati (Air Tungaru) (1981)

Kiribati stamps with Air Kiribati fleet images (source). Air Kiribati was one of the airlines that used the Spanish built Casa C212 for island hopping.

It may sound as a worn, used cliché, but one positive thing about having airline timetables as a hobby is that you get to know quite a lot about many countries around the world ... Now, honestly, I don't know much about Kiribati, other that it is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean ... and that's probably more than most people now about it, at least in this part of the world.

Air Tungaru was the country national flag carrier, currently known as Air Kiribati. This is an international flights schedule, which shows flights (mostly with 727 equipment) to the neighbouring islands and Honolulu.

This is the current Air Kiribati route map. They fly to Nadi in Fiji and it seems they have some kind of regional partnership with Our Airline (the former Air Nauru), which is also operating flights for Norfolk Air

Air Kiribati also had an extensive domestic network that covered the islands. Since 2009, a new domestic airline, Coral Sun Airways, should be linking the airports in the country. According to their website, domestic flights are currently temporally suspended until they find a suitable aircraft ...

    Luxair (2011)

Luxair, Luxembourg airlines, is another European carrier that is still publishing printed timetables. This is a rather bulky, glossy brochure that includes many photos and touristic information about the destinations in their route network. Lufthansa has a share on this airline and thus Luxair is well aligned with the German airline.

Luxair had a flight to New York in the past, but they had flown European destinations only for the most part of its existence. Traditionally, Luxair serves an array of business destinations around Europe (which are well travelled routes by politicians and businessmen) and also holiday destinations in the Mediterranean, flown by Luxair on behalf of their subsidiary Luxair Tours. Most of their flights depart from Luxembourg, but they also have a focus city at Saarbrücken in southern Germany.

I really liked this Luxair TV spot. You can wath the making off at their Youtube channel.

    Croatia Airlines (2011)

Croatia airlines started in 1989 as an air taxi company named Zagal and it soon changed its name after the independece process. It is now a Star Alliance member and it has strong ties with Lufthansa. It is also one of the few European airlines that is still publishing a printed timetable, a very nice booklet that includes some unusual features such as an English-basic Croatian phrase dictionary. Also, you can find the whole publication in digital format at their website.

    Aeronica (1990)

An Aeronica Tu-154, bearing their colourful livery. They were hence nicknamed "the rainbow airline". (Fuente / source)
A rather unusual Aeronica timetable, written in Swedish and published by their Stockholm office.

Aeronica was the Nicaraguan national airline from 1979, when the Sandinist revolution broke on ( the previous carrier was Lanica) Later, a new carrier, Nica was the national airline until it got merged with Taca. It is now part of the Taca group and no longer an independent carrier.
Aeronica had a varying and somewhat eccentric fleet (this partly due to the US embargo on the country, which made it difficult for the airline  to find spare parts for their aircraft) but they chiefly flew the 727 (later, they got Tu-154 aircraft) to destinations in the US, Cuba and Central America. This schedule from 1990 shows international flights only and they were flying to Miami and also other Central American cities.

    Air Europe (1990)

In 1990, Air Europe was facing the future with optimism. They had plans to establish themselves as the second biggest British airline from their Gatwick base, and to build an European group of aligned airlines in Italy, Spain, Germany (NFD), Norway... Air Europe was actually the first airline that tried to build a paneuropean aviation group.
Their route network was growing, and they also had a regional affiliate airline (Connectair / Air Europe express) which flew to secondary destinations; they also made a big effort to get rid of their charter airline reputation and to make themselves appear as a proud, proffessional, business-like airline "like the  traditional carriers"
We should give Air Europe credit as they had some good ideas and to some extent they were antecipating the future of European airline scene; however, the whole project was deemed to fail (as it happened soon after) for a number of reasons.

    Balair / CTA (1999/2000)

As you can well imagine, Balaircta was the result of the merger of Balair and CTA, two Swiss charter airlines that were part of the Swissair group.
As a charter airline, they were not selling tickets directly to the costumers; they published, however, this detailed timetable, in pure Swissair style with lots of information about the airline.
In 1999, the airline was introducing new planes (their fleet was composed of Boeing 767 aircraft, instead of the A310 previously used), a new "Relax class" and a smoke-free environment as smoking was prohibited onboard Balair flights.
