Another great example of how Air France in the late 80's was covering the whole world, as well as other European carriers did. Its coverage was actually somewhat "smaller" because Air Inter was providing domestic services and its private rival UTA was the great French intercontinental carrier at the time. As we know, the three carriers merged some years later giving birth to the current AF as we know it today. Of course, network hubs were way different back then and many destinations were clearly underserved by today standards. As a single example, the Beijing - Paris route had a few flights per week only and they were direct flights with an intermediate stop.
