SAS "Do you also feel there is too much hand baggage onboard?" (1997)

Ahora nos parece algo completamente increíble, pero había una época en la que no sólo no se pagaba por facturar; es que además las compañías insistían bastante en que facturaras lo más posible, para que hubiera más espacio en cabina y mejorar la seguridad a bordo (lo cual es totalmente cierto) y para agilizar el embarque y por tanto la puntualidad (discutible, pero tiene su parte de verdad también)

This is just a simple example of a time, not to long ago, when there were not only no fees for checking baggage, but airlines actually encouraged passengers to check in as much as possible.  In this kind of leaflets was often said that less onboard baggage meant a roomier cabin which also improved safety onboard (this is absolutely true) and also improved boarding time performance and punctuality (they had a point there but we might not agree here as a whole)
