En realidad, el antiguo bloque del Este europeo se estaba tambaleando a estas alturas, pero ver los contenidos de esta publicación sirve para echarle un vistazo a los corredores aéreos entre estos países y también las relaciones internacionales en ese momento. In 1990, ČSA was still Czechoslovak Airlines, and it certainly was a very different airline in a much different world. ČSA flew to a surprsingly high number of Asian destinations, plus New York, Cuba and Canada; they also had a domestic network (which obviously included Bratislava) and their entire fleet was comprised of Soviet-built aircraft. There were plans, however, to add the Airbus A310 to their fleet.
The former Eastern European block was already crumbling apart by 1990, but this booklet gives us a nice look at the aerial links between those countries and also its international links with Western Europe. There were also some other oddities like the occasional Pan Am 727 flying a feeder route to an intercontinental hub.
