THY Türk Hava Yolları (1973)

Poco o nada tenía que ver la THY de los años 70 con la Turkish Airlines actual. Entonces era una pequeña aerolínea (parcialmente controlada por la BOAC británica) que aparte de su red doméstica, tenía unos pocos vuelos internacionales, fundamentalmente a Alemania y países de lengua alemana, además de  algunas capitales europeas y de Oriente Medio. La reputación por la calidad de su servicio tampoco era muy buena, a lo que hubo que añadir además algunos accidentes desastrosos.

There is a huge gap between the current Turkish Airlines and THY, its trading name in the 70's. Back then it was a small airline (partially owned by the British airline BOAC) with a small international network  which was chiefly focused on Germany and German-speaking coountries  besides some other European and Middle Eastern capitals. THY had a shadowy reputation, quality-wise, which was further lowered when some of their aircrafts had terrible crashes.
