Billetes en papel : Iberia (1973), Aviaco (1953)

Este es un billete de Aviaco emitido en 1953, en su primera época (la empresa fue fundada en 1948). Aviaco todavía volaba a  Santiago  desde Madrid (por aquel entonces, era una empresa realmente independiente que incluso competía en algunas líneas con Iberia)

An Aviaco ticket issued in 1953. The airline had started in 1948 and was still in its early years. It was still a trully independent airline and it competed with Iberia on some routes, such as Madrid - Santiago.

 An Iberia ticket from 1973, with the coloured stripes which were used as part of their corporate identity at the time. In fact, the coloured stripes theme has been continously used over the years, only slightly updated every now and then. As for now, airport counters are still using it.

Aviaco (1953)

Aviaco es una de mis compañías preferidas, seguramente porque durante mucho tiempo era la única que volaba a mi ciudad (Vigo). Por suerte, pude escanear estas hojas de una revista de a bordo de 1953 (!), que desgraciadamente estaba llena de humedad.

Aun así es bastante interesante: he rescatado el mapa de rutas, los horarios y tarifas, y una entrevista donde se habla de la profesión de azafata, que entonces estaba casi empezando.

La historia de Aviaco es fundamental en la aviación española. En los últimos años volaba rutas domésticas y algunas europeas para el grupo Iberia, antes de ser absorbida por esta en 1999.

I've always had a soft spot for Aviaco, chiefly because it was the only airline that flew to my home airport (Vigo) for many years. I had the chance to scan this old onboard magazine, even if it was pretty damaged and full of damp spots.

Nevertheless, it is quite interesting. I managed to rescue the route map, schedules and fares and also and interview where the life as an air hostess (a fairly new profession at the time)

Aviaco has a long and interesting story, and is a key name in Spanish aviation. More recently,it was just the domestic branch of the Iberia group, flying also some European routes. Iberia finaly closed the airline in 1999.
