Air Malta (1980) [completo]
Me encanta el look ochentero de la imagen de la portada. De algún modo, parece auténtica (tengo fotos parecidas de mis vacaciones de los 80, aunque no en Malta) y no una foto procesada y retocada mil veces para hacerla más atractiva (que no me lo parece, realmente)...
En todo caso, el mundo era diferente en 1980, y más para Air Malta, que operaba una red bastante reducida pero en régimen prácticamente de monopolio a la isla. Por cierto, ¿alguien sabe qué aerolínea, de código JT, era la que volaba en código compartido a Túnez? Sospecho que era Tunisavia.

I really like the 80's feeling of the cover photo in this timetable. It really looks as it were someone's holiday photo (I actually have pics like this at home, but not from Malta) and not a marketed, doctored image that has been photoshopped so as to make it more interesting...
Anyhow, the world was different in 1980, much more for Air Malta which had at the time a tiny network but benefited from an almost monopolistic situation in flights to/from the island. Also, does anyone know which airline, which used the JT code, was codesharing with Air Malta on the Tunis flights ? I think it might be Tunisavia.

Air Malta (2009)
In 2009, Air Malta was celebrating its 35th anniversary and was also introducing a new logo.
Codeshare destinations are clearly shown on this map, and also flights to / from Catania (a focus city for the Maltese carrier)

Air Malta (2007)
La línea aérea maltesa actualmente está en muy mala situación económica y no es claro si podrá seguir operando durante mucho tiempo ... En realidad, hasta hace poco se había beneficiado de una situación de semimonopolio, con muy pocas líneas aéreas extranjeras volando a la isla y por tanto de poder cobrar tarifas nada baratas. Una buena parte de los problemas de Air Malta en la actualidad se reducen a la presencia de empresas como Ryanair o Vueling en la isla.
The Maltese national carrier is in no good shape at all nowadays and it is uncertain if it will manage to operate ... It had actually benefited until recently from very little competition from other foreign airlines at Malta, thus charging quite high fares. Most of current Air Malta concerns are related with airlines such as Ryanair and Vueling flying to Malta...
La red de rutas cubre más o menos todo el continente europeo, y algún destino en Africa; evidentemente, los vuelos intercontinentales (como Washington que aparece en el mapa) son códigos compartidos (con Lufthansa, via Munich)
Air Malta serves most of the European continent, plus some added destinations in North Africa; as you would expect, intercontinental fligts (such as "Washington" proudly shown on the map) are codeshares (with Lufthansa via Munich)
En algún momento, Air Malta llegó a tener su propia operación low cost (fare4u), pero ahora mismo se concentra en diferenciarse de otras aerolíneas y en proponer productos como este para transportar más barato el exceso de equipaje.
At some point, Air Malta had a low cost branch (fare4u), but it is current strategy is to offer an added value product and some discounts such as lower rates for excess baggage transport.
