MAS (Malaysian Airline System) (1983/1984)

Malaysia Airlines (que usaba el nombre MAS en los años 80) es otra aerolínea que desarrolló enormemente su red internacional en apenas una década; basta comparar este horario con el de 1993. A principios de los 80, por ejemplo, volaban a Tokyo via Taipei y a Hong Kong pero no llegaban a Beijing (del mismo modo que CAAC no volaba a Malasia) aunque no tengo claro si esto se debía a motivos políticos.

Malaysia Airlines was using the MAS name in the 80's. This is another airline that developed a fast international growth in just 10 years; just compare this timetable with the 1993 international network. In the early 80's they were flying to Tokyo via Taipei but not to Beijing (at the same time there were no CAAC flights to Malaysia), and I am not sure wheter there was a political reason behind this or not.

Malaysia Airlines (1993), Madrid

A principios de los años 90 hubo un pequeño desembarco de compañías asiáticas en Madrid (Singapore Airlines, Korean, MAS ...) Estos son unos folletos de 1993 editados por Malaysia Airlines para el mercado español. En aquella época el 747-400 era el orgullo de su flota y Madrid uno de los últimos destinos añadidos a una red bastante interesante que tocaba Europa por un extremo y Los Ángeles y México por el otro.

Many Asian carriers such as Korean, Singapore Airlines or MAS grew an interest in Madrid in the early 90's. These 1993 brochures were edited by Malaysian Airlines in 1993 for the Spanish market. At the moment, the Malaysian carrier was proud of its 747-400 and Madrid (not longer served by this airline) was a recent addition to an interesting network that stretched to Europe in one end and to Mexico City and Los Angeles on the other one.
