Air Alsace (1976)

Es increíble lo fragmentado que llegó a estar en su momento el mercado regional francés (hoy concentrado casi en su totalidad en la filial de Air France Hop!, que de una manera u otra es el resultado de muchas uniones y fusiones de estas pequeñas compañías) ... Air Alsace, que previamente se había unido con Air Vosges (!), volaba desde Colmar ( un aeropuerto que hoy está especializado en aviación ejecutiva) y más tarde fue una de las compañías que se integró en ✈TAT - Transport Aérien Transregional.

It is just both amazing and amusing the great number of small regional carriers that France once had. Most of these small airlines, through a longuis process of mergers and acquisitions, were eventually absorbed into the current Air France regional branch Hop!
Air Alsace (which had itself previously merged with Air Vosges) was one of these small airlines, flying from Colmar (which transformed itself in  business airport later on). It later became one of the airlines that merged into ✈TAT - Transport Aérien Transregional.

Alitalia (1976), Reino Unido / Irlanda

Una edición local para el Reino Unido e Irlanda. Realmente me encanta este mapa de destinos (aunque Italia, por ejemplo, aparece claramente desproporcionada) ... Por supuesto, Alitalia cubría todos los aeropuertos italianos junto con su filial ATI. En realidad, las grandes aerolíneas de Europa occidental volaban más o menos a los mismos destinos intercontinentales, incluyendo Tokyo, Bombay o Sidney y Melbourne en Australia. Iberia, por supuesto, estaba mucho más centrada en el mercado americano ese mismo año.

Local edition for the UK and Irish markets. I really like the destinations map in the cover of this brochure. Italy actually appears way bigger than it really is, but then Alitalia and its domestic branch ATI had a logically comprehensive coverage of the country. The main airlines in Western Europe actually flew all of them to the same intercontinental destinations, more or less. This included Bombay, Tokyo and Sidney and Melbourne in Australia. Iberia was much more focused on the South American market back then. 

British Airways (1976)

En 1976, British airways era una empresa "joven", fruto de la reciente fusión en 1974 de BEA y BOAC. En esa época, estaba en una feroz lucha contra su rival British Caledonian, dañina para ambas, por lo que se decidió abandonar la competencia en las rutas de largo recorrido. Estos son unos cuantos horarios locales del año 1976. Me resultan desconocidos algunos códigos de vuelo como NS, que aparecen listadas como British Airways y supongo que eran aerolíneas regionales que volaban para ella.

In 1976, British Airways was still a "young" airline as a result of the merge of BOAC and BEA in 1974. British airways and British Caledonian were fighting each other those years, with economical looses for both parts, until they decided to stop competing in the long haul market. 

These are some local city timetables for airports in the UK issued in 1976; some airline codes, such as NS, are unknown to me. They appear listed as British Airways, but I guess they were some kind of commuter airline operating on their behalf.
