Garuda Indonesia (1995)
Este folleto nos presenta una Garuda completamente diferente de la que conocemos hoy en día, cuando la compañía indonesia tenía una extensa red que además de Asia cubría Europa y los EEUU. Como sabéis, Indonesia estuvo bastantes años en la lista negra de la UE y apenas hace unos años han reaunudado los vuelos a Amsterdam, fundamentalmente por los lazos culturales al ser Indonesia una ex-colonia holandesa.
A finales de los 90 la empresa entró en una espiral de recorte de servicios, debidos en parte a una serie de desastrosos accidentes y a la crisis económica. El gobierno se planteaba entonces su privatización y la eventual fusión con la operadora doméstica ✈Merpati que operaba la mayoría de los vuelos a las islas más remotas.
This brochure shows us a very different Garuda as we know it today. In 1995 the Indonesian carrier still had an impressive north American and European network, besides its Asian and domestic operation. The Government was at the time mulling its privatisation and merge with the domestic airline ✈Merpati, which flew to the smallest and remotest islands.
In the late 90's the airline had some disastrous accidents and this, togeteher with the financial crisis, lead to a severe reduction of its network. Garuda has restarted its European services (to Amstedam, due to cultural ties as a Netherlands ex-colony) after some years on the European blacklist.

ABC (World Airways Guide) (1991)
Antes era frecuente ver en las agencias de viajes este tipo de guías monstruosas con los horarios mundiales de líneas aéreas. Evidentemente, no voy a escanear los miles de páginas, pero si algunas que incluyen los horarios de algunas compañías interesantes. Al igual que este otro post, puede ser útil para los que necesitan planes de vuelo completos para sus proyectos de Flight Simulator.
Just like this other post, people interested in building their own Flight Simulator projects might find this one useful. It consists on some pages taken from an old ABC guide. Of course I will NOT scan the whole thing, but just a few that I think might be interesting.

Garuda (1975/1976)
Ciertamente, estos eran tiempos más felices para Garuda. Este es un folleto de vuelos internacionales, que incluye muchas conexiones domésticas e internacionales, incluyendo algunas tan improbables como Bangkok-Algers o Jakarta-Stavanger (en realidad, aparecen muchos destinos de Europa occidental y del norte de África)
En esta época, Garuda volaba a varios destinos europeos y los vuelos tenían, como era habitual en la época, varias paradas en ruta, lo que daba lugar a itinerarios muy interesantes y a posibles conexiones que lo eran más todavía.

These were certainly happier times for the Indonesian airline Garuda. This is is an international edition timetable which includes many domestic flights and also lots of international connections, including some oddities such as Jakarta-Stavanger or Bangkok-Algers. There are actually many Western Europe and North Africa destinations shown on this timetable.
Garuda was still flying to a number of European destinations, and the flights had, as it was customary at the time, several stops which led to very interesting itineraries and far more interesting exciting potential connections.
