AOM (1999)

En 1999, AOM estaba integrada en el grupo Qualiflyer, añadiendo al grupo un nuevo hub intercontinental en París. Volaban a Zürich en código compartido con Swissair y también compartían código con otras compañías del grupo como TAP y Air Littoral. Además la compañía introducía los A340 para los vuelos de largo recorrido.

AOM was a Qualiflyer Group member by 1999, and thus this airline alliance had a new longhaul hub at Paris. They shared codes with Swissair to Zürich and also with other Qualiflyer members such as Air Littoral and TAP. Besides that, the A340 was being introduced on longhaul flights.

AOM (la unión de Air Outre Mer y Minerve ) fue la primera compañía francesa que compitió con Air Inter en líneas domésticas y también cubrió, en cierto modo, el hueco dejado por UTA después de que esta pasara a formar parte del grupo Air France. Desde Paris tenía una clara vocación intercontinental y servía, además de otros destinos, los departamentos de ultramar franceses.

A finales de los 90 fue parcialmente adquirida por Swissair y entró en el grupo Qualiflyer. Más tarde se unió con ✈Air Liberté para formar AirLib. La empresa cerró en 2003 y desde entonces no ha habido una alternativa a Air France de su tamaño e importancia en Francia.

AOM was the airline resulting of the merger of Air Outre Mer and Minerve. It was the first French airline to compete with Air Inter on domestic air routes and it also helped to fill the void UTA left after it joined the Air France group. AOM had a strong longhaul operation from Paris, flying mostly to French departments and territories overseas.

AOM was partially bought by Swissair by the late 90's and joined the Qualiflyer group. It later was merged with ✈Air Liberté, and the new airline became AirLib. After this carrier closed down in 2003, there was no other airline of its size to face fight against Air France in France.

Antes de las alianzas aéreas que conocemos hoy en día, las grandes empresas europeas estaban intentando crear grupos de empresas. Swissair lideraba el Qualifyer group. Este horario está editado con el formato habitual de Swissair, pero incluye las empresas del grupo. Es triste ver que ninguna de las empreas que aparecen en portada existe hoy en día.

Swissair pasó a ser Swiss; Sabena es hoy Brussels Airways (y ambas pertenecen a Lufthansa); Air Liberté y AOM se fusionaron en una sola empresa que hoy tampoco existe; Air Littoral quebró en 2003.

Este es un horario en el formato habitual de Swissair, editado en Francia  y centrado en las aerolíneas francesas del grupo: ✈Air Liberté, ✈Air Littoral y ✈AOM.

Before the current age of airline alliances, European airlines were busy building big airline groups. Swissair led the Qualiflyer group and this timetable, in traditional Swissair style, shows data for all the airlines (at the time) in the group. Sadly enough, none of these airlines exist anymore.

Swissair has now become Swiss and Sabena is Brussels Airways (both now part of Lufthansa);AOM and Air Liberté merged later into a single airline (which is now also defunct) Air Littoral closed in 2003.

This timetable was intended for the French market and printed in the Swissair layout. It is focused on the French airlines in the Qualiflyer group: ✈Air Liberté, ✈Air Littoral and ✈AOM.
