Pan Am (1988)

In 1988, Pan Am was not the aerial empire that it once was and which spread around the whole world, and in fact it was just a few years before it would eventually shrink to a much smaller airline in 1991, but still it had an impressive route network between Europe and the USA, as well as a great number of intra European flights, flown with 727 and ATR-42.

TAP (1988) [completo]

In 1988, the Portuguese carrier TAP was employing an interesting, albeit rapidly ageing, fleet that included the Boeing 707, 727 and 737, plus the Lockheed TriStar 500. This is a rather unusual timetable, written in English only, which uses the tabular format.

This timetable card, with both British European and Pan Am flights, is a very good example of air traffic to/from West Berlin after WWII. It was operated by airlines of the allied countries only and Pan Am had an extensive network, both operating domestic flights in Germany and in Western Europe.

WinAir (1998)

WinAir was a small charter airline that flew scheduled public charter services from Long Bech to nearby destinations in California and also to Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. The airline applied for authority to operate as a scheduled passenger airline, but this was not received by the time the airline shut down.

LAB (1996)

In the late 90's, Lloyd Aéreo Boliviano (LAB) was placed under the (now defunct) Brazilian carrier VASP rule. This brochure included a brief history of this airline.

JAT (1988) "Worldwide service"

Yugoslavia was quite probably the most "westernized" country beyond the Iron Courtain. Its flag carrier, for instance, was pretty busy carrying foreign tourists to Yugoslavia using DC-9 and DC-10 planes. This is an interesting brochure printed in 1988, showing the impressive worldwide network JAT had at the time. It spawned from North America to Australia, reaching to several South-East Asian destinations as well (when they were not as trendy destinations as they are today). At the time, there were many air links between East Europe and North America, and several European carriers were flying to Australia. Current airline alliances had made such ultra-longhaul flights more and more seldom.

Aviateca (1987)

It seems Aviateca never printed its domestic schedules, at least I was unable to ever find them... At any rate, this 1987 includes the Tikal (FRS) stop, I suppose mostly because it is a touristic destination. I was unaware that Aviateca ever used Boeing 727 like the one depicted in this brochure. I thought they used Bac 1-11 and then switched to the 737-200, like other airlines in Central America.
