A vueltas con el equipaje
Unos cuantos folletos, tomados un tanto al azar, de varias compañías
distintas, pero con un tema en común: los equipajes permitidos o no
(materias peligrosas), límites y dimensiones, etc.

Monarch (2005)
En los últimos años, Monarch ha pasado gradualmente a ser una aerolínea de bajo coste, centrándose fundalmentalmente en vuelos desde el Reino Unido a España, Portugal y otros países del Mediterráneo.

Syrianair (1999)
Recientemente se ha anunciado que algunos de los A320 de Syrianair como el que adorna la portada de este horario están paralizados hasta que la aerolínea pueda llevar a cabo las tareas de mantenimiento necesarias. En realidad, aparte de los problemas que ya tiene el país ahora mismo, la actividad de Syrianair está muy comprometida ya que prácticamente ninguno de sus aviones está en condiciones de volar. Es además, una de las pocas aerolíneas que ha usado el 747SP como el que aparece en el mapa de rutas.

Some of their Airbus A320 planes, like the one proudly displayed in this timetable cover, are grounded until due maintenance can be carried out. There are also fuel shortage problems and it seems the airline as a whole is virtually grounded as few of its airplanes are able to fly... Syrianair is also one of the few airlines that ever operated the Boeing 747SP, like the aircraft shown in the route map.

Air Gabon
Un folleto de principios de los años 80, presentando a la antigua aerolínea estatal de este país africano, Air Gabon, su historia y su flota. Es una pena que el mapa de rutas esté realizado tan burdamente y que no sea legible.La aerolínea volaba a París, Marsella y Roma en sus vuelos a Europa.
Siempre me gustó bastante su logotipo y la forma en la que usaban el loro en su publicidad, como en este ejemplo.
Air Gabon desapareció en el año 2006 después de su quiebra. Hubo planes para crear una nueva aerolínea (Air Gabon International) con el apoyo de RAM de Marruecos, pero nunca se materializaron. Actualmente, la aerolínea Gabon Airlines vuela entre Francia y Gabon.
A brochure from the early 80's introducing the former state airline Air Gabon, its history and its fleet. There is also a routemap, sadly it is almos impossible to read becaus it is very badly drawn. Its European network included Paris, Marseilles and Rome.
I always liked their litte cute green parrot they were using as logo and also the way the parrot was used as a marketing device,like here.
Air Gabon went bankruot and ceased operations in 2006. There were plans to restart the airline (trading as Air Gabon International) with technical support from the Maroccan airline RAM, but this never happened. Currently, Gabon Airlines is flying between Gabon and France.

La isla de la Reunión es el último territorio francés en el Océano Índico. La compañía Air Austral tiene su base en esa isla y, aunque cuando se creó era una pequeña compañía regional, hoy une Francia continental con la Réunion, y además vuela a otros destinos en África, Asia y Australia. Es, además, uno de los clientes del Airbus A380 y tiene planes de operar en una configuración de alta densidad de 840 asientos en clase turista, lo que se espera que abaratará las tarifas entre Francia y St. Denis.

... Y San Nicolás cogió el avión
En España no es tan conocido, en parte porque lo que conocemos como "Santa Claus" es una deformación publicitaria, pero en varios países europeos San Nicolás, que se celebra hoy y que por cierto viene desde España según la tradición, es un personaje navideño similar a nuestros Reyes Magos. Parece ser que ayer le vieron tomando un avión de la Swiss...
It seems St Nicholas was spotted on a Swiss plane lately. A very well known Christmas tradition in Central Europe, which is celebrated on December 5th and 6th but not so much in other countries, partly because the widely spread "Santa Claus" is a knock-off of this tradition. By the way, St. Nicholas, according to this tradition, comes from Spain...
