Iberia (1992), Reino Unido

✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈ ✈✈✈

There are many lights and shadows about this, but 1992 was a great year for Spain, as the country was hosting at the same time a World Expo, Olympic Games and Madrid was Europe's cultural capital to top it all... This Iberia brochure is both a touristic magazine and a timetable and fares information booklet, showing how you could use any of the Iberia Group airlines to fly between any Spanish domestic airport and the UK (where the only destinations at the time were London and Manchester)

A promo card of the Iberia group, displaying what at the time was the flagship in the Iberia fleet (the 747-200) and the Spanish member airlines. Iberia was still flying to Japan back then, and it is stronly rumoured that it might return soon to the Asian market ...

Atlantic Airways (1999)

There have been many attempts to break into the Canary Islands regional aviation market, where the former Iberia subsidiary ✈Binter has been the lead airline since its creation. Atlantic Airways, a member of the Boluda sealines group, was one of such smaller airlines and it did not last for a long time. ✈Naysa was another inter island hopper fighting for its own share of the market at the time.

Air Lithuania (1997/1998)

For some years, Lithuania had two state airlines. One was ✈Lithuanian Airlines, flying from Vilnius, and the other one was Air Lithuania, which served both Kaunas and Palanga. Both airlines were later merged into a single one.

The best thing about this timetable is the funny descriptions used to describe the aircraft in the Air Lithuania fleet at the time ...

Lithuanian Airlines (1999/2000)

Interflug (1991) "In Deutschland zuhause" [completo]

About a year ago, I published this Lufthansa timetable were the German airline was celebrating its return to East Germany after the fall of the Berlin Wall. This Summer 1991 Interflug timetable is also a very interesting one. In an already reunified Germany, Interflug was simply another German carrier and the catchphrase on the cover "In Deutschland zuhause" means "Feeling at home in Germany" . This brochure included not only Interflug flights, but also other carriers flying to Berlin, such as Iberia which started flying to Madrid in 1990.

For a short time, Interflug continued flying as a secong German state airline, administered by a West Germany corporation which runned former East Germany state companies. Interflug flew domestically within Germany and kept its international network almost untouched until it was definitively closed down in April 1991.

There were some attempts by other carriers to buy the airline, including British Airways (which was mostly interested in keeping a hold in the German domestic market) and Lufthansa, which was not allowed to merge with Interflug because of the anti-trust regulation.
