Air Berlin (1997)

Todos tenemos un pasado, y cuesta reconocer a la Air Berlin actual, la segunda aerolínea alemana, miembro de Oneworld y propiedad casi al 30% de Etihad, en este folleto de 1997. Entonces era una pequeña compañía charter que aprovechaba para hacer propaganda de los precios de su duty free (¬¬) Desde entonces han pasado muchas cosas, incluyendo sus primeros vuelos regulares ese mismo año y que durante un tiempo operaba como una compañía de vuelos baratos.

We all have a tale to tell and Air Berlin has gone a long way since 1997. It was back then a smallish charter airline which was advertising its duty free offers on this simple brochure (so oh cheap, mind you ¬¬), it then started some scheduled flights that same year and after some years when it flew as a low fares airline eventually became, as we know, an Oneworld member, Germany second largest airline and also being partially owned by Etihad Airways.

Urlaub one Air Berlin ist wie Flug ohne Plan ! La verdad es que me pierdo un poco en el juego de palabras pero es algo así como "vacaciones sin Air Berlin es como volar sin saber a dónde ni cuándo"

I get a bit lost at the tongue in cheek world play here, but it means something like "summer holidays without Air Berlin is like flying with no fixed plan"

İstanbul Airlines (1997)

İstanbul Airlines era una aerolínea charter turca que también operaba vuelos regulares domésticos. Volaban por toda Europa y fue una empresa bastante exitosa en la segunda mitad de los años 90, pero finalmente  quebró en el año 2000.

İstanbul Airlines was a charter Turkish carrier that also flew scheduled domestic flights. It flew all around Europe and was mildly succesful in the late 90's, but  it eventually collapsed some years later.

Air Dolomiti (1995)

Un horario y un folleto de Air Dolomiti, la aerolínea regional italiana que desde hace unos años está controlada por Lufthansa y forma parte de su red regional. En 1995 era una compañía independiente que estaba justamente entonces empezando su relación con la compañía alemana.

A 1995 timetable and brochure from this Italian regional airline which is now owned by Lufthansa and is just one of its regional carriers. Back then Air Dolomiti was still an independient carrier which was just starting their close tie relationship with the German airline.

Meridiana (2002/2003)

A principios de los años 2000, Meridiana estaba intentado reinventarse como una compañía de precios bajos, con el lema "low cost, high quality". El eje central de la campaña de comunicación era este guapo muchacho, con aires al Che, que apoyaba la revolución de precios de la compañía y se apuntaba a volar con ellos ...

In the early 2000 years Meridiana was trying a restart strategy under the "low cost, high quiality" slogan, approaching the mixed model many once full service carriers have tried. They were using this handsome guy with its Che allure as a central point in their marketing, all about their low fares.

Condor (1998)

Líneas Aéreas Navarras / Guipuzcoanas (1996/1997)

Otro ejemplo de la locura colectiva que vivió España en los años 90 en cuanto a aviación regional. Air Truck (o Track, parece que ni ellos tenían muy claro como querían llamarse), una empresa de paquetería, puso en marcha esta línea de vuelos domésticos desde Pamplona, y visto el éxito que tuvieron al principio, decidieron crear una compañía hermana en  que volaba desde San Sebastián.

Another example of the regional airlines frenzy that Spain lived in the 90's: Air Truck (or Track, it seems they not were so sure about their own trading name) was a small airline which flew small packets around, until they decided to launch a scheduled passenger service from Pamplona. This was a small success at first, so they launched a sister airline flying from nearby San Sebastian.

Minerva Airlines (1997)

Minerva Airlines era una compañía regional italiana que operaba con Dornier 328. Durante un tiempo operaron vuelos para Alitalia y sus aviones estuvieron pintados con su librea.

Minerva Airlines was an Italian regional carrier using Dornier 328 equipment. They also flew some flights on behalf of Alitalia and had their planes painted with their livery.
