NFD (short for Nürnberger Flugdienst, Nürnberg Air Service) was the German member of the pan-European air alliance which the British ✈Air Europe was trying to build. Things worked way differently, though, and NFD ended joining sides with ✈RFG, another German regional airline. Both carriers were merged together and the new airline was the first encarnation of ✈Eurowings, a larger regional carrier which soon started to fly many Lufthansa routes from German airports...
