Just another random note about airlines & social networks:
SAS has set up a new Internet competition where you have to set up an online profile and get voted by other internauts in order to win the prize ... (that is, this is nothing but a virtual popularity contest) ... the small detail is that the competition is open only for same-sex couples. The lucky winners will marry aboard a SAS aircraft flying from Sweden to New York and will enjoy a 5 star holiday in the United States (there will be another competition for Americans , as well)
Now, this is just a marketing action, but a quite refreshing one, in my opinion. Airlines are a quite conservative industry, and an assertive, positively gay-friendly marketing action like this one is still a rarety. Same-sex marriage is already legal in many countries (as it is in two of SAS home markets, Sweden and Norway) and will certainly be legal in many others soon. These kind of actions just adds more visibility to the issue.
