Air Atlantis

Hubo un momento en el que todas, o casi todas las compañías europeas de bandera tenían su filial de vuelos charter (British Air Tours, Air Charter, Scanair, Condor, Viva Air, etc) y competían en ese segmento de mercado, que muchas veces era una forma también de hacerlo en el sector de vuelos baratos en una época anterior a las LCC.

Air Atlantis, basada en Faro, era la división charter de TAP Air Portugal y operaba tanto transportando viajeros europeos como emigrantes portugueses. Su principal destino eran las playas del Algarve, pero volaban también a otros destinos nacionales.

There was a time when almost all European flag carriers had their own charter airline ( are some examples), which often also meant having a second name with lower costs and lower fares, at a time when LCC were inexistent and this was the way to fly on cheaper fares.

Air Atlantis was TAP Air Portugal airline, based at Faro, and flew European tourists and also Portuguese expatriates, mostly to the southern part of Algarve but also to other Portuguese destinations.
