LAP (short for Líneas Aéreas Paraguayas- Air Paraguay) was, as the name says it, the flag carrier of Paraguay. This 1991 timetable is incredibly difficult to read for anyone not familiarized with IATA airport codes and acronyms such as ETD and ETA ( Estimated Time of Departure / Arrival) At the sime time, it is a fascinanting piece showing very bizarre routes sucha as Brussels-Frankfurt-Asunción with an intermediate technical stop at Dakar. They flew with obsolete DC-8 and 707 aircraft and thus had trouble with the noise regulations at European airports. If I recall correctly, they later flew with a DC-10 but the airline closed shortly after. It was followed by LAPSA and TAM Mercosur (there is a blog entry about this carrier in this blog)
