This is a good example of the many regional airlines in the Spanish domestic market that were born in the 90's.Líneas Aéreas Navarras was the passenger operation of Air Truck, a courrier airline. They flew from Pamplona using ATR-42 and were relatively succesful at their beginnings (they were so confident that they set up a sister carrier, Líneas Aéreas Guipuzcoanas, which flew from San Sebastián with a similar livery, only that the planes sported a crowned G instead of a N)
This is a brochure introducing the airline. Like others that I have previously published, it is all about the benefits of regional aviation, which was pretty much unknown in Spain at the time.
In 1997, Madrid-Barajas airport was very congested and nearby Torrejón was proposed as a temporary solution until the expansion plan was finished. Passengers would check-in and "board" at Barajas, but they would be transfered by bus to Torrejón. Líneas Aéreas Navarras was the only airline that agreed on this, and it was hinted at the time that this set-up was the main reason behind their ultimate failure. I seriously doubt, however, that they could last much longer without being acquired by rival airline Air Nostrum in the best possible scenario. Currently, Iberia Regional (to Madrid and Barcelona) is the only airline at Pamplona airport.
