Atlantic Coast Airlines was a regional operator for both United and Delta that started operating on its own, trading as Independence Air, when United withdrew the contract. It was a low cost airline that flew mostly in the US East coast, flying with Canadair Regionaljets, but it also had some longer flights to the West coast using Airbus A319. It was a short-lived airline that only lasted about two years.
